It’s week 42 of 2025, and I’ve put together a tanda featuring instrumental tangos by one of my favorite orchestras—Osvaldo Fresedo. Let’s kick things off with “Tigre viejo.” It’s a classic. If you mention Fresedo, this piece is probably the first that pops into most tango lovers’ heads. But here’s the tricky part: Fresedo mostly focused on vocal tangos during this era. So, building an entire tanda around “Tigre viejo” isn’t exactly straightforward for DJs.
