Week 6 of the year brings a milonga tanda featuring the orchestra of Julio De Caro—a key figure in the symphonic evolution of tango who, surprisingly, is still underplayed in milongas. This is unfortunate, because his milongas are not only musically refined but also remarkably danceable.Despite recording hundreds of tangos during his career, De Caro recorded only nine milongas:

Most of these recordings work perfectly well on the dance floor. A different DJ could easily build another tanda by changing the order or mixing them with milongas from nearby periods. This week, however, I chose to create a tanda made exclusively of De Caro milongas.
