2025-52 Francisco Lomuto milonga tanda with Jorge Omar & Fernando Díaz

In the final week of the year, we finally have Francisco Lomuto. And it’s the perfect moment to mention a concept you’ve surely come across in the tango world: milongas para bailar . Because when you say “Lomuto,” two things come to mind — the clarinet and his milongas.

Lomuto’s milongas are truly made for dancing. And I am sure you’ve listened to — and danced to — the milongas in this tanda before. Still, I couldn’t resist adding a small surprise.

A quick note about Lomuto’s milongas: even though they’re widely known, within his roughly 1,000 recordings there are only about 15–16 milonga, candombe, or milonga-candombe tracks. That’s just about 2% of his discography. And yet, despite the small number, they’re among the most familiar and most beloved milongas on the dance floor.
