It’s time for the 41st “Tanda of the Week”. With the special tanda from September, that makes 14 for the month. Hard to believe we’re heading into the last stretch of the year already. For this week, I’ve picked out a tanda that’s full of energy and rhythm. The star? Pedro Laurenz, joined by singer Juan Carlos Casas.
But before we jump in, let’s take a quick look at some history. Between 1938 and 1942, Laurenz and Casas teamed up for 15 recordings. 4 milongas, 1 vals, 10 tangos. Most of these tracks are considered real gems. Unfortunately, it’s tough to find all of them in good sound quality. Luckily, the tracks in this tanda are clear enough to play at a milonga.
